About Us

Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven began with a dream and in 1997 Rape Crisis Service of Ashland County, a program of Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc., became the only program in Ashland County providing support and advocacy for individuals who had experienced sexual assault in their lives.  Less than 10 years later in 2006, Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven opened its doors and began providing shelter and related services October 16, 2006.

As a dual program (sexual violence and domestic violence) Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven continues to be a full-time program in Ashland County providing safe shelter, domestic violence, stalking, and rape crisis support and advocacy to individuals 24/7 and 365 days per year.
